What to expect when you arrive*

Upon arriving at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), expect a streamlined process at Terminal 1A or 1E for international arrivals. 

1. After disembarking, follow signs to immigration, where you'll present a valid passport, visa (if required), and a completed arrival card. The process typically takes 30–60 minutes during peak times.

2. Next, proceed to baggage claim, then customs, where you may need to declare items or currency over USD 10,000; clearance is usually quick if you have nothing to declare. 

3. Exit the arrivals area to find your pick-up person outside the terminal, near the designated pick-up zone, where taxis and rideshare services also operate.
